Become a visitor

How to become a Paws For Therapy visitor.

DO YOU HAVE SPARE TIME DURING THE WEEK?

If the answer to this is “yes”, then the Charity would be delighted to hear from you!

We are seeking volunteers on the Isle of Man.

The volunteers who already work with the Charity on the island visit, together with their well behaved dogs, in establishments bringing comfort and companionship to people of all ages.

Paws For Therapy on the island has volunteers visiting in Nursing Homes, Residential Homes, Hospice, and in special needs areas. If you feel that your dog has the temperament to become a Paws for Therapy visiting animal on the Isle of Man, then contact us.

All we ask of you is a few hours, maybe weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, but mutually agreed between you and the establishment you would visit.

Your dog would have an Assessment by one of our qualified assessors to ascertain its temperament, and once through that, assistance would be given to find somewhere for you to visit.

We are there to assist the volunteers, deal with administration, and liase with the establishments already receiving, or on the waiting list to receive visits.

The benefits of animal assisted therapy have been clinically proven, and you could be part of the fantastic work the Charity is undertaking.
